About the class

Ballet teaches grace, posture, and flexibility.  Students focus on the use of proper ballet terminology, expanding their knowledge of classical ballet technique, and refining motor skills for classical ballet practice. The class is structured as a formal ballet class, with floor barre work, barre work, and centre work.

CityDance School and POP! have started the fall 100% online. We are continually assessing the external environment to determine when we feel it is safe to begin offering in-person classes.

All CityDance School & Conservatory students are invited to participate in the year-end Children & Youth Concert  to be held during the week of May 24-30. Possible dates are Saturday, May 29th or on Sunday May 30, 2020.

Decisions about performance dates will be shared pending additional information related to Covid-19 and Montgomery County guidelines and directives. A performance fee to cover the costs associated with costumes, rentals of the Strathmore Music Hall, and extra staffing for rehearsals will be added if the performance is confirmed.

In order to ensure proper placement for your child, we invite all students to participate in a sample class. Students and parents work with program staff to create individualized schedules to meet students’ personal dance goals. Fill out this form, and our staff will get back to you right away.
