Pre Summer Sampler Session 1

ABOUT THE CLASS

The Pre Summer Sampler class focuses on a different dance style each week, giving both dancers and their parents an introduction to the different genres and helping them decide which class to continue for the fall.

Week 1: Pre Jazz – Dancers are introduced to the basics of jazz in this fun and creative class focusing on rhythm and style. 

Week 2: Pre Modern – Dancers are introduced to the basics of modern dance, such as floor work, improvisation, and self-expression.

Week 3: Pre Ballet – Dancers are introduced to the fundamentals of ballet by learning basic ballet vocabulary, developing coordination, and using their imaginations through fun improvisation exercises. 

Week 4: Pre Hip Hop – Dancers learn the basics of hip hop while building strength, flexibility, and confidence in a fun environment. 

Must be at least age 4 by Monday, June 17, 2024.

The session runs Monday, June 17, 2024 through Monday, July 8, 2024 for a total of 4 weeks.

Location: This is an in-person class at CityDance @ Friendship Heights, 5207 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington DC 20015.

Class capacity is 12.

Small Class Policy

Classes with 3 or less dancers are considered semi-privates and will be held for a reduced class time of 30 minutes. Once the class builds to 4 or more dancers, classes will resume to the full 45 minute class time.
