Koresh & CityDance’s Vaganova for the 21st Century Intensive | Ages 9-20
Koresh Dance Company, a world-renowned and critically acclaimed contemporary dance company, partners with CityDance to provide an intense summer dance training experience in true Koresh form – hard-hitting, powerful and articulate. Dancers will engage in challenging contemporary technique training, improvisation exploration, dance composition and repertory by Ronen Koresh, Artistic Director of Koresh Dance Company. All repertory will be taught by the teaching artists of Koresh Dance Company. During the intensive, dancers will also study classical ballet technique, variations, and ensemble repertoire from major ballets taught by CityDance’s in-house Vaganova for the 21st Century program. This portion of the intensive will be led by Stanislav Issaev, Conservatory Ballet Master, Lorraine Spiegler, Artistic Director, and the stellar CityDance classical ballet teaching faculty.
Dancers will present their classical and contemporary repertory in a showing for family and friends at CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore on the last day of the intensive. Year-round CityDance Conservatory students will carry forward and perform new choreography, learned in the summer, during the 2022-2023 season.
All CityDance Conservatory Intensives and Workshops require an audition. Learn more about our in-person and video auditions here.
