This intensive is ideal for younger dancers interested in honing their skills in challenging ballet and contemporary classes. Daily training includes ballet, floor barre, modern, contemporary jazz, and Umfundalai. Young dancers will better understand the African diaspora and its influence on the development of American contemporary dance expression.

All students will have ballet and contemporary technique each day and repertory experiences. CityDance teaching artists will create ballet pieces, and dancers will learn contemporary works from the current repertory of PHILADANCO!.

Young Training Program Dancers will present their classical, modern, contemporary, jazz, and Umfundalai repertory in a showing for family and friends at CityDance Studio Theater at the Music Center at Strathmore on the last day of the intensive.
