Beginning Jazz/Modern Fall Semester

ABOUT THE CLASS

A progression of Pre Jazz/Modern. Dancers continue their exploration of jazz and modern thorough classes focusing on coordination, rhythm, and dance terminology. By alternating between the genres, dancers begin to understand the similarities between the two techniques as well as their unique cultural and technical differences. Must be at least age 6 by Sunday, September 15th, 2024.

The semester runs Monday, September 16th, 2024 through Monday, January 13th, 2025. Classes will not be held on the following days:

Indigenous Peoples’ Day – Monday, October 14, 2024 

Halloween – Thursday, October 31, 2024 

Fall Break – Monday, November 25, 2024 through Sunday, December 1, 2024 

Winter Break – Monday, December 23, 2024 through Sunday, January 5, 2025

MLK Day – Monday, January 20, 2025

Location: This is an in-person class at CityDance @ Friendship Heights, 5207 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington DC 20015.

Class capacity is 12.

Small Class Policy

Classes with 3 or fewer dancers are considered semi-privates and will be held for a reduced class time of 30 minutes. Once the class builds to 4 or more dancers, classes will resume to the full 45 minute class time.
