Congratulations to our 11 year old Petite Conservatory Dancer Ela Sevillia for receiving 1st Place Classical and 1st Place Contemporary in the pre-competitive age division at the Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals in Philadelphia, PA!
Ela performed the Odalisque Variation from Le Corsaire, staged by Stanislav Issaev after Marius Petipa, and the Paquita Variation, staged by Stanislav Issaev after Marius Petipa. She also performed “Deseo”, a contemporary solo choreographed by CityDance School & Conservatory Founding Artistic Director Lorraine Spiegler.
“I am very proud of Ela’s beautiful performances and the integrity in the technique and artistry in the presentation of her difficult classical variations and her challenging contemporary solo. Attending the very first YAGP regional of the season was a new experience for us with a shorter than usual prep time. I was moved by all of the dance schools and students who had to train under the most difficult restrictions as a result of COVID-19, coming together for such a successful and safe weekend.” – Lorraine Spiegler
We would like to thank YAGP for their commitment to student safety and for all of the protocols that they put in place to allow for an incredible weekend!
