Xavier Núñez

Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Xavier Núñez began dancing at age ten at The Hartt Community Dance Division in Hartford, Connecticut, becoming the first dancer in his family. In 2010, he continued his training under Miguel Campaneria at the International Ballet Academy in Cary, NC.

In 2012, he earned the silver medal at the World Ballet Competition, leading to his invitation to join the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company under Kevin McKenzie and Franco De Vita. There, he performed in international galas across Italy and France, dancing works by George Balanchine and Alexei Ratmansky. Xavier later joined Tulsa Ballet in 2013, performing in classics such as The Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Cinderella. In 2017, he competed in the Concours de l’Opéra National de Paris, earning 6th place and a contract for the 2017–2018 season with the Paris Opera Ballet.

Since 2018, Xavier has been a member of The Joffrey Ballet, performing lead roles in works by Yuri Possokhov, John Neumeier, and others.

Beyond the stage, Xavier’s creative pursuits led him to co-found Action Lines, a production company with Dylan Gutierrez and Eric Grant, where he directs and choreographs across dance, film, and immersive media.
