Vladimir Tapkharov is in his third season with The Washington Ballet. Originally from Irkutsk, Russia, he received his training at the Buryat Republican Choreographic School and graduated from the East Siberian State Institute of Culture in 2012.
As a professional artist, he performed with the Russian Ballet (2014–2021), Imperial Russian Ballet (2016–2020), and the Musical Theater of the Republic of Karelia (2019–2021). Throughout his career, he has performed numerous roles with the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Russian National Ballet, Imperial Russian Ballet, and the Musical Theater of the Republic of Karelia.
He has also participated in prestigious competitions, including the Perm International Ballet Competition “Arabesque” named after Ekaterina Maximova and the All-Russian Competition for Ballet and Choreography Artists.
In addition, he has toured internationally in Spain, Portugal, Canada, the United States, and the Baltic countries.
