Sydney Goldston

Sydney Amira Goldston (she/her) views dance as physical and conceptual research, using movement to challenge expectations, reflect societal intricacies, and embrace radical self-expression. A 2024 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, she holds a B.F.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography and a B.S. in Criminal Justice. Her movement language has been shaped by esteemed VCU Dance faculty and by experiences with Gibney Dance Center, Sidra Bell Dance New York, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, YYDC, and Henny Jurriëns Studio, and in Countertechnique®. Now based in the Washington, D.C. area, she has worked with Lionel Popkin, Shanice Mason and Jamision Curicio, and is a member of Compania Medusa. Alongside Elan Robinson, she is an Artist in Residence at Dance Place for the 2025–2026 season. Their work has been shown at Dance Place and Baltimore Black Dance Festival, with upcoming presentations at Atlas Intersections Festival and Dance Place’s New Releases Concert.
