Rinat Imaev

Rinat Imaev, originally from Oufa, Russia, is an internationally respected ballet teacher, choreographer, and former Principal Dancer. A graduate of the Vaganova Ballet Academy, he performed with the Kirov Theatre, Sofia National Ballet, and Royal Ballet of Flanders. Recipient of the Gold medal at the International Ballet Competition Varna. Served as Company Teacher at American Ballet Theatre for 15 years and as Senior Faculty and Company Teacher at The Washington Ballet from 2016–2024. He has taught and staged works across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and is a longtime YAGP jury member. Currently a freelance artist, he continues to teach and choreograph internationally while advising for IBStage in Barcelona.
