Since coming to Washington from Tennessee forty years ago with the Carter administration, Kay has been a full-time volunteer, with a focus on arts and education. She serves currently as the Chair of Board of CityDance. Previously, Kay served as Chair of the Boards of Maret School, The Washington Ballet, and the DC Commission of Arts and Humanities. In addition to CityDance, Kay currently also sit on the Boards of VIVA, Hollins University and Building Bridges.
