Jocelyn identifies as a Vietnamese American, born in Vietnam and raised in Maryland. Jocelyn began her dance education at Wheaton Studio of Dance. She then continued her dance education at CityDance School and Conservatory. During her time at CityDance, she was taught by Kaitlin Madzelan, Robert Priore, Anatoli Kucheruk, Ludmila Morkovina, Irina Vakhromeeva, Andrea Long, Jason Garcia Ignacio, Beth Hirschhaut-Iguchi, and Sarah J. Ewing. Furthermore, she has performed repertory by Therese Gahl, Marie McNair, Alex Neoral, Yuanyuan Wang, Dance Theather of Harlem, Koresh Dance Company, Gallim Dance Company, Bruce Wood Dance Company, Yin Yue Dance Company, and 10 Hairy Legs. Jocelyn received a BA in International Relations and Dance from American University (AU). At AU, she was apart of the American University Dance Company where she has gotten the opportunity to work with Rosy Simas, Sarah Beth Oppenheim, Bennyroyce Royon, Gabriel Mata, and Chitra Subramanian. Recently she has worked with Heart Stück Bernie in “Many Extra Only More” and Lauren DeVera in “Reclaiming Us.”
