Ivy Chow is a dance director, educator and choreographer from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She trained and performed in the Graduate Program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre under Roberto Munoz, Dennis Marshall and Terrence Orr before earning her Bachelor of Science in Ballet Performance from Indiana University, where she studied with Violette Verdy, Michael Vernon and Jacques Cesbron. While at IU, she worked with Russell Kaiser, Cynthia Gregory, Sandra Jennings, Deborah Wingert and Lori Belilove, and taught for both the Pre-College Ballet Program and the university’s ballet elective. Ivy holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from The George Washington University. Her graduate research examining gender disparity in ballet earned the 2017 NDEO Top Paper Award and was published in the Journal of Dance Education in 2018. Ivy has been with CityDance since 2009, helping expand the CityDance Studios program across DC, Maryland and Virginia.
