Cristina Vasilis, from Columbia, South Carolina, has a lifelong passion for dance, having studied classical ballet and modern dance. She began her higher education at Goucher College as a Dance/Arts Management major, spent a year studying abroad in Greece, and then graduated with a BA in Arts Management/Dance at the College of Charleston. She is also currently pursuing a degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and is a certified Yoga and Ayurveda coach.
Cristina loves welcoming prospective families to CityDance, helping them discover the right programs and supporting each dancer’s growth both on stage and off. She brings extensive experience in arts administration, having worked with Spoleto Festival USA, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Bates Dance Festival, the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs, and the Kennedy Center Office of Dance Programming. Cristina first joined CityDance in 2004 as its first full-time Development Manager and returned in 2015.
