Colleen Queen

Colleen Queen began her ballet training in Maryland, studying at local studios before attending The Baltimore School for the Arts. She also trained through the Kennedy Center Master Class Series with teachers from visiting ballet companies.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Ballet with an Outside Field in Arts Management from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Violette Verdy and other distinguished faculty. While at IU, she was selected to teach in the Pre-College Department for four years.

Colleen danced professionally with Sacramento Ballet for three seasons and, in 2016, performed with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet at The Kennedy Center. Her repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, Martha Graham, and Paul Taylor.

After returning to the DMV in 2017, she worked in The Kennedy Center’s Dance Programming Department and later served as Program Manager of CityDance POP! in Tenleytown.
