Brittany Bailey graduated high school from the UNC School of the Arts where she studied under the direction of Melissa Hayden and Brenda Daniels. Following graduation Bailey moved to New York City to train on a scholarship with Merce Cunningham. Bailey has performed with Marina Abramović, Michael Clark, Yvonne Rainer, and Robert Wilson, as well as traveled with the Whirling Dervishes of the Mevlevi Order. Bailey’s choreographic works have been presented at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, EMPAC, Judson Church, Watermill Center, and Pioneer Works. Bailey graduated from Columbia University in 2023, where she majored in Anthropology and Philosophy. Prior to having the honor of joining CityDance, Bailey was on faculty at the Washington School of Ballet and worked at Body Dynamics as a personal trainer specializing in Pilates. Bailey is currently completing a Master of Science in Health Sciences with a focus on the Performing Arts and Injury Prevention.
