Aranza Lara Arizpe is a Mexican-American dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist based in New York City. She began her training at CityDance Conservatory, where she built a strong technical and artistic foundation that continues to inform her work. She went on to earn her B.A. in Dance and Sociology from UCLA, developing an interdisciplinary practice that bridges contemporary and street dance forms with a focus on cultural identity and community. Her choreographic work has been presented at UCLA, including interdisciplinary and multimedia performance projects, and includes site-responsive work created at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C. She is also the founder and former director of BCC Moves, the first hip-hop dance team at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, which has since grown into the school’s main dance team and a competitive program. Aranza is currently a Teaching Artist at the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services, where she leads youth dance programs while continuing to grow her choreographic voice within New York’s dance community.
