Alyson Atkinson is a rising junior at American University, studying Business & Entertainment. She permanently resides in northern New Jersey where she started dancing at her local YMCA at the age of 3 and joined their competition team at the age of 7. She moved to Starstruck Dance NJ at the age of 13 and was part of their competition team for five years, training in ballet, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, and musical theater. Alyson also attended Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School part time, where she studied modern, jazz, and ballet in their dance program. During her time at American University, Alyson has performed with AU in Motion, in the Dance Program’s Fall Dance Concert, and DANCEWORKS. This will be her third year working at CityDance Studios, where she has previously been a teaching assistant and substitute teacher. She is very excited to join Dance Team this season and looking forward to a great year!
