We’re excited to announce the expansion of the Conservatory to CityDance’s new location in Falls Church, VA, which features three spacious, state-of-the-art dance studios.

CityDance at Falls Church launches this summer with two intensives: one from June 16–27 and another from August 4–15. These intensives will include ballet technique, pointe, repertory, and boys’ classes, as well as classes taught by contemporary guest artists. Starting in the fall, CityDance will offer both its Pre-Conservatory program (ages 9–12) and the Classical Track of our Pre-Professional Conservatory program (ages 13+) at the Falls Church location. Both are rigorous, five-day-a-week training programs designed for students preparing for a career in dance.

Although Falls Church is located across the Potomac, it will be fully integrated with our Montgomery County programming. Students at both locations will receive the same high-quality training, access to guest artist residencies, and performance opportunities, with faculty teaching across both sites. On Saturdays, all students—from both our Falls Church and Montgomery County locations—will train together at our home at the Music Center at Strathmore for ballet classes, masterclasses, and rehearsals for both The Nutcracker and our Annual Conservatory Concert, which is presented in downtown DC each spring.

On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the Conservatory will offer classes as part of the Conservatory Studies Program—high-quality and rigorous training for students ages 7-18 who are seeking dance education with a more flexible time commitment than the full Conservatory program. Classes will be offered in a variety of styles, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, and modern. Please note: Conservatory Studies classes require a placement audition prior to registration.
