Alisher Saburov was a 1989 graduate of the famous Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia. After graduation, he performed as a Principal Dancer with the renowned Kremlin Ballet, where he worked with luminaries such as Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekaterina Maximova. After touring the world with Moscow Ballet, he moved to the United States in 2002 and quickly found his niche as a well loved and highly respected ballet teacher and mentor to many students around the DC Metro area.

With support of friends from CityDance, Classical Ballet Theatre (CBT) and other organizations where Alisher taught over the past 10 years, CityDance Founding Artistic Director Lorraine Spiegler and Ellen Gustin invite you to contribute to the education of young classical dancers in honor of Alisher Saburov.

Your gift will honor his memory by providing highly talented and deserving young dancers professional training at CityDance School & Conservatory. During the last few years, highly gifted Conservatory students received the Saburov Scholarship, which allowed them to achieve some of the highest honors available to young dancers. Corbin Holloway won a Hope Award at the Youth America Grand Prix International Finals in New York in 2019, Jade Diouf was a National YoungArts Foundation Finalist in 2019, and Makani Yerg was one of the 20 finalists at Prix de Lausanne in 2018.
