Tai Chi Corrections & Sensing Hands / Beginner Sword Part 2 review Combination*
This class will be a review of the entire 37 posture Tai Chi form as taught by Professor Cheng Man-ch’ing. Students must already know the choreography of the Tai Chi form. The class will include a review of the “external” postures, as well as work on the “internal” underlying fundamentals of how movement happens in Tai Chi. In the Sensing Hands portion of the class students will work cooperatively, rather than competitively. Students will develop their ability to “listen” and “stick” to their partner’s movements. They will also learn to detect “resistance” in their partner’s movements, as well as in their own.
The Sword portion of the class will be a review of The Beginner Sword Part 2 class content (the second section of the Yang Style Sword form as taught by Professor Cheng Man-ch’ing) in a posture by posture format. Students registering for this class must know the entire Tai Chi solo form, as well as the Sword form up through the Posture, “Pushing the Boat with the Current”.
* Students need instructor permission to register for this class.
