This class will cover the entire 37 posture Tai Chi form as taught by Professor Cheng Man-ch’ing. Students must already know the choreography of the Tai Chi form. The class will include a review of the “external” postures, as well as work on the “internal” underlying fundamentals of how movement happens in Tai Chi. In the Sensing Hands portion of the class students will work cooperatively, rather than competitively. Students will develop their ability to “listen” and “stick” to their partner’s movements. They will also learn to detect “resistance” in their partner’s movements, as well as in their own.
