Beginning Jazz/Modern Fall Semester

ABOUT THE CLASS

A progression of Pre Jazz/Modern. Dancers continue their exploration of jazz and modern thorough classes focusing on coordination, rhythm, and dance terminology. By alternating between the genres, dancers begin to understand the similarities between the two techniques as well as their unique cultural and technical differences. Must be at least age 6 by Friday, September 15, 2023.

The semester runs Saturday, September 16, 2023 through Saturday, January 27, 2024. Classes will not be held during Winter Break, Monday, December 20, 2023 through Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Please Note: Our classes are designed to be taken over the course of the full school year, culminating in an end of year recital in June 2024. We highly encourage all students to consider the full year option when signing up. Find more info and register for the full year HERE.

Location: This is an in-person class at CityDance @ Friendship Heights, 5207 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington DC 20015.

Class capacity is 12.

Small Class Policy

Classes with 3 or less dancers are considered semi-privates and will be held for a reduced class time of 30 minutes. Once the class builds to 4 or more dancers, classes will resume to the full 45 minute class time.
