About This Class

Join Namaala Liebenthal, Tanya Nuchols, and Chelsey Cox for a dance fitness class based on the club/music video style of dance from Zambia, similar to Afrobeats/Afropop. Students will learn and review Zoca fundamentals while learning fun and challenging routines to popular urban music from across the African continent.

Sign up now for the 5 week Summer Session (Tuesday, June 17 – Tuesday, July 15, 2025) and/or the 6 week Late Summer Session (Tuesday, August 5 – Tuesday, September 9, 2025).

Classes will not be held on the following days:

Juneteenth: Thursday, June 19, 2025

4th of July Weekend: Friday, July 4 – Sunday, July 6, 2025

Studios Summer Break: Monday, July 21 – Sunday, August 3, 2025

Labor Day Weekend: Saturday, August 30 – Monday, September 1, 2025

The current session runs through Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Summer Session: $ 90/ 5 weeks

All Levels ZocaBeats 5 Week Session: 6/17-7/15 

Late Summer Session: $ 108/ 6 weeks

All Levels ZocaBeats 6 Week Session: 8/5-9/9 

Drop-In: $20

No Class 6/3 & 6/10

All Levels ZocaBeats Drop In: 6/17 

Location

This is an in-person class at CityDance @ Friendship Heights, 5207 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington DC 20015.

Cancellation Policy

If a class has low attendance, it may be subject to cancellation. Cancellation decisions for morning classes will be made by 9pm the night before and for evening classes by 3pm that day. In the event you cannot attend your purchased/scheduled drop-in class, please email adults@citydance.net by 9pm the day before to receive a full credit and/or reschedule your drop-in class. Cancellation emails received after 9pm the night before will receive a 50% class credit. If a cancellation email has not been sent before the start of class, our No Show policy takes effect and you will forfeit the full class credit.
