About The Jackson Method
Aaron Jackson teaches and coaches adult students in Washington, D.C., and internationally. His ballet classes are meticulously structured and focused on technique. They are designed for adult students and professional artists who aspire to reach their full potential through individualized guidance and corrective action during class. Jackson’s curriculum is informed by his training at The School of American Ballet (SAB) and his professional experiences. Much of the content in class draws on his personal syllabus and training methodology, tailored for adult learners.
The Jackson Method for Adult Ballet emphasizes developing a complete dancer by targeting and improving the fundamental “Strength and Stability” needed for advanced ballet classes. It clarifies balletic posture, focus (épaulement), plié, balance, turnout (external rotation), transitional steps, extension, and proper alignment for pirouettes, various turns, jumps, and more.
Jackson’s Method encourages adult students and professionals at various levels to engage more intelligently and efficiently. Through structured barre and center work, the classes are suitable for those eager to adapt to their surroundings. His approach creates a supportive environment for individuals committed to clean, consistent ballet technique. The classroom atmosphere is dynamic, engaging, and passionate.
