School and Conservatory
CityDance School & Conservatory (Ages 7-19)
Led by Artistic Director Lorraine Spiegler, the CityDance School & Conservatory offers a well-rounded curriculum of Vaganova-based ballet training and contemporary dance techniques, as well as, vibrant world dance forms.
We are a placement-based school, which means we require all new students ages 7 and older to attend a placement audition to evaluate their level and determine which classes would be the best fit for them given their age, technical level and learning needs. This can be accomplished through an in-class evaluation during a regularly scheduled class. This is also an opportunity for you and your dancer to "audition" us! Once we discuss the appropriate class for your dancer to take, our Registrar will send you a confirmation/audition fee invoice for $25.
To have our registrar contact you about a placement audition, please submit an inquiry here.
Afterwards, if you feel like the class is a good fit for them (and our programming and placement team feel the same) then you will receive an email from our Registrar with a link to register them for the year.
Our classes began online on September 21. View our weekly class schedule of more than 100 classes.
Details of our school calendar, uniform requirements and more can be found in our Handbook.
Dancers who have the interest, talent and experience may be considered for the highest level of placement, the CityDance Conservatory. The CityDance Conservatory offers students specialized training, rich performance opportunities and strong connections to the professional dance world. Graduates have gained acceptance at some of the country's most prestigious dance colleges, summer programs and professional companies.
While we do allow for rolling admissions, entering CityDance School and Conservatory in September is ideal in order to maximize training, growth, and performance opportunities.
A limited amount of merit scholarships are available for students whose talent and commitment is at the highest level. Scholarships are available to Conservatory students, across all genres, and at the discretion of the Artistic Director, Lorraine Spiegler.
