On Thursday, February 25, select CityDance DREAM School students were the special guests of faculty member Shanice Mason as she spoke on the panel of The Arts Citizenship Talk (ACTnow): Revelations of Black Women in the Arts, an unfiltered roundtable discussion with extraordinary women sharing their artistry, scholarship, vision and creativity. Hosted by The Clarice and moderated by Ronya-Lee Anderson, the event was part of a series of discussions with Black women scholars, performers, educators and leaders addressing the highs and lows of being a Black female artist in a world ill-equipped to receive and make space for them.

After listening to the rich conversation, students engaged in a post-event dialogue with DREAM School faculty and staff that continues to inspire and energize their artistic training and citizenship.
