Join Ray Psalm for an open movement workshop for dancers of all backgrounds and levels. Emerging in the 1960s within the funk and popping scenes, waving is an illusory style in which a dancer creates the impression that a fluid, ripple‑like wave is traveling through their body. Using this style, students will explore movement that feels personal, unhurried, and enjoyable in an encouraging environment. Be ready to play, move with curiosity, and settle into your own rhythm. Whether you’ve been dancing for years or have never taken a class, this workshop was built with you in mind. All are welcome!

ABOUT RAY PSALM
Ray Psalm is a multidisciplinary artist with 25 years of dance experience and an ever-growing practice that includes contemporary, waving, hip hop, krump, and animation. She's dedicated to helping dancers feel challenged, empowered, and curious. Her classes are interactive, community-driven spaces where dancers are encouraged to bet on themselves, support one another, and discover that what comes naturally to them is already worth something. Ray navigates personal physical limitations and remains living proof that what you choose to give your art is never determined by what stands in your way. As much as dance is her discipline, it's also what brings her the most joy, and that joy shows up in every space she holds.
CANCELLATION/RESCEDULE POLICY
If a class has low attendance, it may be subject to cancellation. Cancellation decisions for morning classes will be made by 9pm the night before and for evening classes by 3pm that day. In the event you cannot attend your purchased/scheduled drop-in class, please email [email protected] by 9pm the day before to receive a full credit and/or reschedule your drop-in class. Cancellation emails received after 9pm the night before will receive a 50% class credit. If a cancellation email has not been sent before the start of class, our No Show policy takes effect and you will forfeit the full class credit.
WORKSHOP GIFT CERTIFICATE POLICY
In order to receive a full value gift certificate you must call 48 hours prior to the event. No show/no call = no credit. If there is a threat of inclement weather or if the event has low attendance, it may be subject to cancellation. In this case, you will be given a credit to attend a future class of equal value.
