Session 1-3-4: The Foundation, the Form, the Sword Form
Location: N. Bethesda / Strathmore
Saturday, August 6th
Session I: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
Session #1 will cover the mechanics of movement in Tai Chi, as well as the breakdown and application
of these mechanics to postures from the beginning up to the kicks to the corners in the Tai Chi form.
Participation in session #1 is a prerequisite for participation in any other session.
Sunday, August 7th
Session: 3: 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Session #3 will begin with a review of what was covered in Session #1 on Saturday morning, followed by a review of the entire Tai Chi form focusing on postures requested by participants.
Session 4: 10:30 – 1:00 pm
Session #4 will look at the applications of Session #1 content to the Sword Form, as well as Sword Form Corrections. We will also be doing Sword Fencing exercises that
can be practiced alone, in addition to applying those exercises in partner work.
