Important: CityDance School & Conservatory 2020 Children and Youth Concert Performance Fee - Option to Donate to CityDance’s “Come Together Fund”

Dear CityDance Family,

We hope that you are continuing to stay safe and healthy.  Although we miss seeing you and your beautiful children in our studios, we are so happy to see students dancing joyfully through our online program each day.  We are proud to share the overall success of our 118 weekly online LIVE classes.  We feel fortunate to be able to continue providing dance training to students in the home environment, and grateful for the dedication and commitment we have seen from our students to continue training with us in this new platform.

However, per our last announcement, we are very sad to know that we will not be able to enjoy watching your children dance on the main stage at Strathmore in our annual Children and Youth Concert this year.  We will miss this special culminating event and coming together of our students at every level across the School and Conservatory.  We are already looking forward to 2021 when we can hold this wonderful concert again with your children!

We write to you today with a request that you might consider applying your pre-paid performance fee as a 100% tax-deductible donation to CityDance’s “Come Together Fund”. This fund was launched by the CityDance Board of Directors to sustain the organization through this difficult time, and to ensure that we not only carry on through the challenges upon us but will once again thrive in our mission to transform lives and communities through dance.  With a matching gift of $125,000 pledged by the Barbara Epstein Foundation, your contribution will go twice as far.  Your support will ensure that we are able to continue offering vital programming to students across the socioeconomic spectrum, nurture the talent of tomorrow's dance professionals and retain the strong local community of dance faculty and artists.

If you would prefer a credit of your dancer’s Children and Youth performance fee be applied to next season’s Concert instead of a donation to the “Coming Together Fund”, please click here by Wednesday, May 13th and our registrar, Sheila Emerson ( will update your invoice accordingly and send it to you for your reference.  Given our need to move our focus to our summer programming, we hope to hear from all of you by this date and finalize our plans for the season ahead.  If you feel confident about your donation, you do not need to reply and on Thursday, May 14th, your performance fees will be automatically donated to the “Coming Together Fund."  A tax-deductible donation acknowledgement letter will be provided.

Thanking you in advance for your support!   We look forward to being back in the studio with your dancers!

Stay healthy and safe,

Lorraine and Asanga
