CityDance School and Conservatory Monthly Newsletter: September 2020
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!
Congratulations on a highly successful summer of Conservatory Intensives and School Programs! For those of you who were able to join us this summer, it was truly wonderful seeing all the young dancers and their beautiful online performances. We are so proud of each and everyone of our dancers! We welcome you all back to our 2020-2021 school year which will start on . We have a wonderful year planned and are so excited to have your dancer join us!
As we enter the new school year, we will initially be offering all classes online. We are making significant preparations/inroads to offer a very limited number of Conservatory classes in an in-person/virtual format with the highest level of safety (masks, temperature taking, health form screening, expressly marked spots with tape at the barre and in the center for each dancer, no bare feet are being used at this time, and additional cleaning of the studios and education lobby before, in between and after classes and in some cases during programming). We have begun a very safe testing period with a very small group of day program students, and on , we will add a few Conservatory evening classes and will experiment with rotations of 7-9 students. We are closely assessing the COVID-19 indicators on a weekly basis and tailoring our responses to our new reality per Montgomery County and CDC guidelines.
In all cases, students and parents who are not comfortable with being in the studio will be able to continue to experience our quality programming online. We appreciate your patience during this process as ensuring the health and safety of all of our dancers remains our top priority.
We have made significant technology updates to our online platform in order to ensure a seamless online dance experience for your dancer. This is a friendly reminder to please accept all your dancer’s classes by . Once you have accepted their classes, you will be sent an invoice for payment. When your payment has been received, your dancer will be assured login access to the online platform by September 18. This step is very important and necessary given the time required to provide access to our secure online platform for your dancer’s classes. Thank you in advance for completing this step in a timely manner.
The first few weeks of the school year will be placement weeks, so please know that our placement team will be observing all the students and may give feedback or suggestions where necessary. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Thank you so much for being a part of our CityDance family and for entrusting us with your child's dance education.
We look forward to a fabulous year ahead and cannot wait to see all our beautiful young dancers!
