This is NOT a final show order but will allow you to plan for which concert your child will be in. The final show order will be made available after Dress Rehearsals. We have done our best to include the youngest children in the first show and to minimize the number of shows each child will need to participate in.
Saturday, April 6th & Sunday April 7th @ Strathmore
Dress Rehearsals will take place at Strathmore in Studio 405 from 9 AM-5 PM
On Dress Rehearsal days, ALL STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE WITH HAIR AND MAKE-UP DONE. Please follow the link Hair and Make-Up Info for information regarding hair and make-up needs for the dress rehearsals and performances as well. Pictures are taken on dress rehearsal days. This is also the day your child will get his/her final costume fitting. Fittings may also happen prior to this day during class time. NO PERSONAL PHOTOS OR VIDEOS may be taken during dress rehearsal. Professional photos will be taken after their class' run through and made available for purchase.
Parking: Free parking is available on Sundays in the Grosvenor Metro Parking Garage and on Tuckerman Lane, 2$ parking will be available on Saturdays in the Grosvenor Metro Parking Garage and $.75 hr at Meters on Tuckerman Lane.
Rehearsal: Rehearsal runs approximately from 9:00am to 5pm. Each class will have a time slotted within those hours to get dressed, run through his/her piece, take photos, and return the costume. You will NOT be expected to be here all day; ONLY for your child’s assigned class time(s),which usually lasts a couple of hours.
Upon arrival, please sign your child in on the 4th Floor to Studio 402 at Strathmore where a staff member will put on his/her costume. At the designated time, CityDance staff will escort your child’s class to Studio 405 for rehearsal.
Photos: At the designated time, CityDance staff will escort your child’s class to the 3rd Floor, Studio 304 (Strathmore) for photos. PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN STUDIO 304 DURING PHOTOS. They are however allowed to follow the group downstairs and fix any stray hairs, etc. in the hallway before pictures are taken.
Costume: After photos, your child’s class will be escorted back to Studio 402 to take off his/her costume. The costumes are property of the CityDance Costume Shop and are not to be taken home following dress rehearsal or the performance. There is no eating or drinking while your child is in costume. Please help us keep all costumes in good condition.
Departure: At the designated time, please pick up your child from Studio 402.
Saturday, May 25th @ Strathmore
Technical Rehearsal takes place on the Strathmore Music Hall stage. Please arrive with hair done and in proper CityDance uniform. Costumes will not be worn on this day. Make-up is not necessary. Please bring a snack and plenty of water for your child.
Arrival: Please drop your dancer off at his/her dressing room at his/her designated time (see below) and check them in with CityDance staff. Dressing room assignments will be sent out as we near the date.
Arrive @ 2:00 PM for Act 1- ETA finish by 5 PM
Arrive @ 4:00 PM for Act 2 - ETA finish by 7 PM
If your child is in BOTH ACTS, the ARRIVAL TIME is 2:00 PM.
Please be on time as we have a very limited time for our technical rehearsals.
Allow time to park in the garage for this day OR park along Tuckerman Lane to bring your child in.
2$ parking will be available on Saturdays in the Grosvenor Metro Parking Garage and $.75 hr at Meters on Tuckerman Lane.
Rehearsal: CityDance staff will escort your child to the stage for rehearsal. Parents may sit quietly in the Music Hall during the technical rehearsal. NO PERSONAL PHOTOS OR VIDEO ARE PERMITTED.
Departure: Your dancer will be dismissed once his/her last piece has finished on stage. We will be tweeting the classes with username @CYConcertInfo as they finish for easier pick up. All students must be picked up from their dressing rooms and must be signed out prior to departure.
Sunday, May 26th @ Strathmore
On Performance day, ALL STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE WITH HAIR AND MAKE-UP DONE. Please bring a snack and plenty of water for your child. There is no eating or drinking when your child is in costume.
Arrival: Please escort your dancer to his/her dressing room at his/her designated time (see below) and check them in with CityDance staff. Dressing room assignments will be the same as for the Technical rehearsal. There will be monitors in dressing rooms 304, 405, and 402 so your dancers may watch the show while they wait to go on stage.
Arrive @ 1:00 PM for Act 1 (approx end time for Act 1 is 5:30 PM)
Arrive @ 3:00 PM for Act 2
SHOW IS FROM 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Show: Approximate show times are as follows:
Act I: 3:30 -5:30 PM
Act II 5:30-7:30 PM
Please note these are approximate show times. It is the sole responsibility of parents and guests to arrive on time as Act I might end earlier than 5:30 PM and therefore Act II may begin prior to 5:30 PM. We do not want you to miss any part of your child's performance. We encourage parents and guests to enjoy the full concert.
NO PERSONAL PHOTOS OR VIDEOS are allowed during the concerts. A professional DVD of the Concert will be made available for purchase. After your child's time on stage, CityDance staff will escort them back to their dressing room to return his/her costume and wait for pick up.

Departure: All students must be picked up from their dressing rooms. If your child is only in Show #1 or Act II of Show #2, you may pick him/her up after the performance has ended. If your child is only in Act I of Show #2, you may pick him/her up during intermission and return home if you desire. If your child would like to sit with you and watch the rest of the show from the audience, you will need to purchase a ticket for your child in advance. However, since the show tends to sell out, please remember that your child can stay in the dressing room and watch the show on the monitors.
Children & Youth Concert Photography
Your child will have the chance to get their photo taken in each of their class costumes during their dress rehearsal. In order to have your child's photo taken please fill out the attached photo form and turn it into the front desk at Strathmore or Rockville on the picture day. There will also be an option to buy photos the day of the dress rehearsal at the front desk. Please fill out a form for each class/class theme that you would like your child's photo taken and include the check with the form. All checks should be payable to Irvin Simon Photographers.
