Success at YAGP Pittsburgh!
Congratulations to CityDance on the recent awards at Youth America Grand Prix in Pittsburgh this past weekend! We are proud and happy to announce that two of our young dancers received top awards. Eric Poor, age 10, received the Hope Award. And Corbin Holloway, age 12, received the Youth Grand Prix, after winning the Hope Award at YAGP’s international finals last year. In November of 2019, Corbin was invited as a guest artist for YAGP Anniversary Galas in Mexico.
Both of these awards are given for the best overall performances of dancers in their age divisions across classical and contemporary categories.
We are proud of the entire Conservatory team led by Lorraine Spiegler, Founding Artistic Director, who created and coached the students’ contemporary pieces for this competition.
Additionally, our Ballet Master Stanislav Issaev received the Outstanding Teacher Award. During his career, he has received many awards, including the Nijinsky Prize, and he is now enjoying the opportunity of sharing his vast knowledge with the upcoming dance stars of tomorrow.
