During a journey through traditional Sri Lankan Folklore, students will explore the story of God Kataragama and the Feathers of the Peacock. Among nature's most dramatically beautiful creatures, the peacock is a symbol of good luck throughout Asia.  During this Sri Lankan adventure dancers discover traditional and folk movement of this faraway land while also exploring ballet, modern and jazz. Dancers are invited to celebrate the magic and mystery of how the peacock got his gorgeous blue green feathers, as well as learn about the symbolism of the the Sri Lankan god Kataragama who flies on the peacock's wings and brings well-being to the people.  Come join us as we take flight on the wings of the Peacock!
