COMMUNITY PROGRAMS TEACHERS & SITE MANAGERS
As our programs expand and grow we are always looking for qualified, enthusiastic teachers for our Community Programs. If you are a professional youth worker and dance teacher interested in joining our staff, please email your resume with cover letter to Kelli Quinn at kelli@citydance.net. In your cover letter, please outline your education, training, and experience working with youth, as well as motivation for working in a community program.
Teachers:
- dance teaching experience in a non-traditional environment
- experience teaching various dance styles
- ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences (parents, teachers, site-personnel, etc)
- experience and interest working with youth of various ages, socio-economic backgrounds, and cultures
- ability to creatively adapt to different scenarios, spaces, and settings
- ability to identify creative solutions and implement new ideas
- experience working with curriculum and developing lesson plans
- ability to incorporate various art forms into daily activities
- ability to facilitate student-lead activities
- knowledge and experience implementing positive classroom management and conflict resolution strategies
Site-Managers:

CITYDANCE CENTER AT STRATHMORE WORK-STUDY PROGRAM
Program Description:
CityDance offers a work-study program to individuals who are interested in working in dance administration. Once accepted to the Work-study program, you will be assigned a 4-6 hour shift per week at CityDance Center at Strathmore's reception desk, or on a special project as approved by the Administrator.
Benefits Include:
Free classes: CityDance Center offers a wide variety of classes including ballet, modern, hip hop, jazz and tap. Complimentary tickets for performances, as available.
Duties Include:
Open and close the Center
General maintenance of studios and equipment
Read weekly Work-study bulletin
Greet students and parents
Answer phone and respond to appropriate voicemail
Register/sign-in students
Handle payments
Promote and support all CityDance Center education programs
Volunteer twice a year at CityDance participatory events and festivals
Requirements:
One-year commitment
Ability to multi-task
Customer service knowledge, or willingness to be trained
Interest in CityDance Center and other programs
