For three extraordinary weeks CityDance takes to the road as a Cultural
Ambassador to Moscow, the Russian Capital and one of the world's great cities of dance, the distant lands and great cities of Kazakstan, Astana and Almaty, and the elegant cities of Minsk and Grodno in Belarus. Supported by the United States Department of State, "Catalyst" recalls CityDance's concert celebration in Washington last March as it brings to the stage the singular "Power Passion Purpose" for which the company is known.
With the CityDance premiere of Paul Taylor's "Esplanade" as its signature the concert features Kate Weare's "Scorched," Vladimir Angelov's "Suitcase," Ludovic Jolivet's "Roger & Lucie," Christopher K. Morgan's "+1/-1" and Artistic Director Paul Gordon Emerson's "Falling" and "Entangled."

Founding artistic partner CityDance and the Washington Ballet join a collection of DC's finest dance artists for the second annual VelocityDC dance festival. Presented by the Harman Center for the Arts, WPAS and DanceMetroDC Velocity is the signature celebration of Washington area dance for the season. CityDance Ensemble enters the second year of an exciting and thought-provoking partnership with the international Writers Program at the University of Iowa. A collection of many of the finest writers from around the world, the IWP brings together writers from, among others, China, Iran, New Zealand, The UK and the Palestinian Territories.
Earth is an informal evening of collaboration, sponsored by the US Department of State, the IWP and CityDance Ensemble, sharing the talents of the dancers and choreographers of CityDance and the writers of the IWP. Year-two centers on the theme of EARTH, and what it means to each of these artists in 2010 and beyond.
Its an elegant, informal evening of the languages of the mind and the body in CityDance's elegant Studio 405.
The evening is free, but reservations are requested.

Morgan and dancer Kathryn Pilkington, at the invitation of the US Department of State and imPERFECT Dancers of Naples, Italy, took to the road for a week to teach, train and collaborate in Naples.
